Artist's Description
Anyone familiar with The Semicolon Project will understand the meaning behind this painting. Suffering from a bout of severe depression during a PMDD episode, I painted this piece in a fit of anger - just red and black, slashing at the canvas. When I was done, I knew I wasn't DONE. My story isn't over yet. So the semicolon was added over the anger and depressions as a reminder - I'm still here.
20% of proceeds from sales of this image will forever be donated to The Semicolon Project or other suicide prevention organizations.

All my life I tried to play the "good girl" but I was never very good at it. But when I'd embrace my true self, I felt like people were judging me, telling me "that's not who you really are", and that I was just trying to be "sensational" to make waves.
